Nancy has been an Occupational Therapist since the summer of 1974, having graduated from the University of Southern California with a B.S. in Occupational Therapy .

Nancy began her career working with rheumatological patients and later combined that experience working with hand injury patients.  She worked in the clinics of Rheumatologist Dr. John C. Brown and later in the office of Hand Surgeons Dr. Myles Cohen and Dr. Robert Bassett.

In 1991, Nancy opened up The Hand Center of Southern California with a fellow occupational therapist, Robin T. DeRose. They both sat for the first Certified Hand Therapist exam in 1991, passed and were able to open up a second clinic in 2001. Robin has since retired but Nancy decided to keep both offices open with additional qualified staff.

The clinics have continued to be environments of caring and guidance through the difficult process of hand rehabilitation. Nancy continues to feel honored to be able to provide help and care to the many individuals she has had as patients.

I became interested in pursuing a career in hand therapy after I broke three bones in my hand in a                                                        snowboarding accident while I was in high school.

Through my own rehabilitation process, I was impressed with the way my Occupational Therapist helped me to not only overcome my challenges with hand mobility and strength but also helped me                                                     get back to handwriting in class and playing the cello.

This challenging experience led me to pursue a career in Occupational Therapy so I could use my own    experience to help others overcome their challenges and get back to the activities they value most.

I graduated from the University of Puget Sound in 2017 with a B.S. in Exercise Science and from the                                    University of Southern California in 2020 with a M.A. in Occupational Therapy.
